Apache Capital
Apache Capital is a leading UK investment manager, developer and operator specialising in the build-to-rent residential sector. Its Present Made of Eddington development has been designed to provide residents with thoughtfully curated amenity spaces that encourage wellbeing, productivity and community.
The Amenities Building includes:
- Reception
- Café
- Co-working space
- Gym
- Yoga studio
Each area required a carefully considered commercial indoor planting solution that would complement the interior design while remaining practical, resilient and easy to maintain.
The Brief
The client wanted an indoor planting scheme that would:
- Enhance resident wellbeing through biophilic design.
- Create a premium first impression for residents and visitors.
- Soften the clean lines of the contemporary interior architecture.
- Introduce natural colour, texture and focal points throughout the building.
- Deliver a resilient planting scheme suitable for a fortnightly office plant maintenance
Although this was a residential development, the communal spaces function much like modern workplaces and hospitality environments, requiring planting that would perform beautifully in high-use shared areas.
A Collaborative Design Process
Every successful commercial plant installation begins with careful planning.
Working alongside the project’s architect and interior designer, our team carried out two comprehensive site surveys to ensure the final planting scheme was both visually striking and practical for long-term maintenance.
The surveys enabled us to assess:
- Natural and artificial light levels.
- The most suitable locations for each plant species.
- Future growth rates and mature plant sizes.
- Access routes through narrow corridors and elevated areas.
- Installation logistics and future maintenance requirements.
During procurement, Apache Capital reviewed real-life samples of the proposed plants and decorative planters, ensuring complete confidence in every element before installation began.
Our Commercial Planting Solution
Our commercial interior landscaping design combined statement planting with layered greenery throughout the Amenities Building.
The centrepiece of the installation is a magnificent 3.5-metre Ficus Amstel King, positioned within a bespoke planter measuring 850 mm in diameter and height. Installed within a purpose-built corner of the ground floor, the tree creates an impressive green canopy that visually connects the reception with the mezzanine level, forming an immediate focal point for residents and visitors.
Throughout the building we installed a balanced combination of floor-standing, medium-height and tabletop indoor office plants and feature planting within decorative pots and integrated planters.
These species were selected to create visual interest through contrasting foliage, varied heights and rich textures while complementing the contemporary interior design.
The planting palette included:
Strelitzia nicolai
Kentia palms
Philodendrons
Dracaenas
Calatheas
Aglaonemas
A selection of fern species

Built Around Long-Term Plant Health
Beautiful planting is only successful if it continues to thrive.
Because the ongoing commercial plant maintenance contract was based on fortnightly visits, we carefully selected resilient, drought-tolerant species capable of performing well between scheduled maintenance appointments.
This approach ensures the planting remains healthy, vibrant and visually impressive throughout the year while providing long-term value for the client.
Installation
Installing more than 100 mature plants across multiple communal spaces required detailed planning and close collaboration with the wider project team.
Our installation specialists worked alongside Apache Capital and the construction team, adapting to programme changes and construction delays while ensuring every plant arrived in excellent condition and was installed at precisely the right stage of the build.
Despite challenging site conditions and a tight programme, the project was completed successfully, delivering a seamless commercial indoor plant installation that integrates naturally with the building’s architecture and interior design.
